Stewed Apples and a Breakfast Bar Stool

The most important meal of the day and I'm making a leisurely breakfast of porridge topped with apples stewed in pomegranate juice with cinnamon and all spice. Who do I think I am? There I am prancing around the kitchen with a ladle and spoon whilst every other Tom, Dick and Harry is having Rice Crispies.

Albeit it was nice and filling (couldn't finish the lot) but it took me a whole half an hour and so is not one of those breakfasts for the midweek rush. As I have four months off with nothing better to do with my mornings apart from snore like a pig and arise looking like a rather rugged pig, I took my time in making this concoction until the juice turned into a syrup and the apples were nicely spiced.
.

I started by chopping my apples (notice the pig chopping board)

In goes the juice, apples and spice. Reduce untill juice thickens and the apples are soft- delicious.

Make the porridge according to the packet and when the apples are appropriatley stewed, pour over the mixture.

I enjoyed mine with a mug (MORE LIKE A BUCKET) of Earl Grey and congratulated my self like a star on wasting a whole thirty minutes making breakfast.
