I saw these cute as a button Viennese Whirl biscuits on BBC GOODFOOD'S website by The Hairy Bikers and wanted to try them out minus the hairiness and the bikes.
As a keen decorator piping practice is key but the star nozzle was way too small and ended up doing an involuntary workout trying to push the dough through the end. Use my wise advise if you don't want to sweat it out over biscuits and get a bigger nozzle.
I added my own twist by coating the piping bag in red food colouring to get this raspberry ripple effect which I love love love.
Sandwiched together with buttercream and jam it tastes dreamy but I solemnly swear to eat in moderation as these aren't exactly one of your 5 a day. 5 biscuits a day should be a new one though.
Now you will be looking like Nigella if you make some of this for a jubilee street party. Bake up some in patriotic colours red, white and blue and it would be a pretty little affair for ours truly Queen Liz.
